BRIEF
–The objective was to devise a solution where a user travelling by road could enter their destination and get results that indicated route options as well as details on safety and other key criteria for them to watch out for.
–The key point of focus was to be the risk assessment of the routes for example, indicating accident prone areas and current weather conditions.
IMPLEMENTATION
–We created an iOS application which spoke to a backend API system written in Ruby.
–The backend system managed intelligent caching of frequently used routes and the processed historical data. A combination of OSRM for the segmented routes and Google Maps for the user interface map was used.
–The design used our own UI Framework (PineKit).
