Training Requirements
- Duration: 16 hours total (8 sessions of 2 hours each)
- Schedule: 2 hours per week for 8 weeks (via Zoom)
- Completion Timeline: Training must be completed within three (3) months of the start date
- Cost: $1900 plus the purchase of the NCDA’s Instructor Manual
How Do I Apply?
Complete the application and if you are accepted, we will move forward from there, scheduling our Zoom meeting times. Occasionally I will set up a pre-scheduled date/time for the training. Please refer to the NCDA website, or my online application for more information about those pre-scheduled dates and times for training. Your Path to Becoming an FCD Instructor: The Application Process
To ensure a high-quality learning experience, the application process for the FCD Instructor Training program includes:
Qualifications:
- Career Development Expertise:
Must fulfill ONE of the following:- Master's/Doctoral in Counseling with career development coursework, practicum/internship with major career emphasis, and 3+ years of experience.
- Master’s in HRD, Psychology, or Education with 5+ years’ experience, continuing education, and relevant publications/presentations.
- Bachelor’s in a related field with 5+ years’ experience, continuing education, and publications/presentations.
- Training Expertise:
- 3+ years teaching/training adults.
- Experience teaching career-related courses or conducting in-depth staff training.
- eLearning Skills and Experience:
- Experience with LMS, online course creation and delivery.
- Comfort with tech tools and troubleshooting.
- Credentials/Memberships:
- Licenses/certifications in career counseling.
- Memberships and leadership in professional associations.
- Professional Contributions:
- Presentations, publications, and development of training materials.
- Commitment:
- Statement of training usage or letter of support from an administrator/manager.
